STATE RE-PURCHASES MINERALWELLS INDUSTRIAL SITE

(07/18/2003)
The West Virginia Economic Development Authority has reacquired a major economic development site at Mineralwells in Wood County.

The site was to have been the location of a Luigino's plant that would have produced frozen food products, and would have brought a large number of jobs to the area.

The agency repurchased the 38-acre site at Mineralwells for $1,320,000.

The deal was completed with Vets Realty of Jackson, Ohio, the real estate holding company for a contractor that was going to build a $36 million plant on the site.

David Satterfield, executive director of the development office, called the Mineralwells location "one of the best industrial sites in the state."
