NICHOLSON FLEES TO THE WOODS - Wanted For Parole Violation

Authorities were searching the woods and highways in areas adjacent to Norman Ridge early Friday morning for Gary Nicholson, who allegedly is wanted for parole violations. He had not been found by mid-morning Friday. Nicholson fled to the woods after officers arrived on the scene. Allen Parsons and the Calhoun Sheriff's Department and State Trooper J. D. Hunt began searching for Nicholson with a search dog shortly before 1 a.m. Friday. Nicholson had reportedly been involved in an encounter with a parole officer in Spencer. Norman Ridge is located in an area between State Route 5 and Big Root and Rt. 16 at Five Forks. The ridge runs parallel to Yellow Creek.
