ST. JOSEPH'S WILL DEVELOP OPEN HEART UNIT - Bitter Battle Is Over

(07/10/2003)
A four year battle between Parkersburg's two hospitals - Camden-Clark and St. Joseph - over which facility will provide open heart surgery was decided yesterday.

The West Virginia Health Care Authority has granted St. Joseph's Hospital the right to develop a unit and perform open-heart surgery.

Authority chairman Sonia Chambers will make the official announcement Thursday afternoon at St. Joseph's.

St. Joseph's is a for-profit hospital and Camden-Clark is a not-for-profit hospital.
