POLICE SEIZE $2 MILLION CACHE IN POT - Flyovers Discover Plants In Ritchie

(07/10/2003)
Nearly $2 million worth of marijuana plants were seized this week at three separate locations in Ritchie County, according to Sgt. E. E. Ashcraft of Harrisville.

National Guard helicopters discovered the pot in a series of flyovers conducted Monday. Ashcraft said at least two arrests are pending. The three growing fields were unrelated.

West Virginia State Police have declared an all-out effort on illegal drugs, and have asked West Virginia citizens to provide them with tips. Each plant has a street value of about $2,500.
