TWO ACCIDENTS WITHIN MINUTES - Rain Slick Roads During Storm

Two auto accidents happened within minutes in separate sections of the county shortly after heavy rain and thunderstorm crossed the area.

A vehicle went out of control on Hog Knob Hill near the mouth of Bull River on State Route 5 at 4:38 p.m. There were no apparent injuries. The Calhoun Sheriff's Department, Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded.

A second vehicle crashed at 4:43 on State Route 16 between Jackson Hill and Big Springs sending the driver to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. The nature of the injuries unknown.

The vehicle reportedly rolled on its side.
