TELEMARKETING REGISTER OPEN TOMORROW

People fed up with telemarketing calls can now do something about it.

West Virginians who don't want to deal with as many telemarketers can call in to the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call registry starting Monday.

Charities and political organizations are exempt.

Abut 17 million people have already registered.

All consumers east of the Mississippi River can register beginning at 12:01 a.m. Monday by calling 1-888-382-1222.

Internet registration is already available at the following Web site, www.donotcall.gov

Under the new federal rules, telemarketers who phone numbers on the Do Not Call list can be fined up to eleven-thousand dollars for each violation.
