Calhoun EMS answered the call, with First Responders from the Arnoldsburg VFD.

Sheriff Allen Parsons is investigating the accident.

Police were looking for a car and driver after a vehicle struck a pedestrian Thursday evening. The hit-and-run happened along US 33/119 between Sand Ridge and Stumptown.

Three pedestrians were reportedly walking along the highway on Little Bear Fork about 9 p.m., when one was struck by the vehicle.

Calhoun EMS transported the injured man to Roane General Hospital in Spencer. Sources at the scene said he appeared to have some serious injuries.

HealthNet could not respond to the scene because of weather conditions.

The hit-and-run driver reportedly had Maine license plates, front and back, on an older model light blue Toyota or Subaru 4-door.

The vehicle was being driven by a female, with several male passengers.

Calhoun County Deputy Sheriff Ron Bandy issued a bulletin to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

Bandy said to contact authorities if it is spotted.
