PROSECUTOR MORGAN RESIGNS - Commission Will Fill Un-expired Term

Calhoun County Prosecuting Attorney Tony Morgan has resigned. Morgan officially tendered his resignation to the Calhoun Commission today, effective August 1.

Morgan has been prosecutor for 15 years.

"I appreciate the support and cooperation the people of Calhoun County has given me over the years," he said. "The time is right for me to move on."

Morgan's term will expire the end of December, 2004.

The Calhoun Commission will be appointing a prosecutor to replace him, and will be seeking applicants.

Morgan plans to devote his full-time to his private law practice, he has offered temporary assistance to the new prosecutor.
