Parkersburg's two hospitals are continuing to duke it out to provide cardiac surgery. They will soon learn which plan will win
the state's approval. Efforts to compromise or reach a decision on the matter has been ongoing for several years. The WV Health Care Authority held a hearing in January on competing proposals from St. Joseph's and Camden-Clark Memorial hospitals, saying a decision will be made in July. Camden-Clark has aligned with West Virginia University Hospitals and the WVU Health Sciences Center. St. Joseph's plans a joint venture with Charleston Area Medical Center. |
