ARNOLDSBURG VFD GETS EQUIPMENT GRANT - Replace Radios And Pagers

The Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department will receive a grant from FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The grant will be used to purchase radio equipment and pagers for the department, according to Fire Chief Fred Waybright.

The total for the project is $14,175, with $1,417 being provided in match by the local department.

The United States Fire Administration has announced 155 grants to fire departments throughout the U.S. in the third round of the 2003 Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.

In the last three weeks, 491 departments have received more than $27 million dollars, this last round providing about $7.3 million.

Arnoldsburg is only the second department in WV to receive one of these grants. said Diane Ludwig, Director of LKADC, who helped obtain the grant.
