Dare V. Crawford, 90, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, died June 27 in Columbus, Ohio following a long illness.

Born July 5, 1912 in Calhoun County he was a son of the late William T. and Oma Esther Wood Crawford. He was a member of Albert's Chapel United Methodist Church at Sand Ridge. He was a retired carpenter and stone mason.

Surviving are three sons, Stanley D. Crawford and his wife Susan, and Michael Crawford and his wife Karen all of Columbus, William David Crawford and his wife Linda of Rittman, Ohio; three daughters, Carolyn Sue Wilson and her husband, Blaine of Spencer, WV, Sandra Hathaway and her husband Darrell of Mineral Wells, WV and Sharon Lee Combs and her husband, Gary of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Ursula Jo Powell of Barberton, Ohio and Etta Crawford of Millstone, WV; 11 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Greta Crawford in June, 2000; three brothers, Glen, W.T., Jr. and Gray Crawford; four sisters, Grace Carpenter, Mildred Rennie, Jean Maurawski and Peggy Miller.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Rick Swearingen will officiate. Interment will be in the Sand Ridge Cemetery at Sand Ridge, WV.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Riverside-Grant Hospice, 3535 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio.
