MEMORIAL SUNDAY FOR ANNE LORENTZ MURPHY - Calhoun High School Teacher

Calhoun High School teacher Anne Lorentz Murphy of Glenville died June 15 in Ruby Hospital following a long bout with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. this Sunday, June 29, at the Glenville Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

She was born October 7, 1947, to Lestelle "Dollie" Lorentz Murphy and Benjamin C. "Icky" Murphy, both deceased.

Miss Murphy was a graduate of Glenville High School, Glenville State College, and Marshall University. She was a teacher for over twenty-six years, most recently at Calhoun County High School.

She was a member of the Glenville Presbyterian Church and the organist until her illness.

The Sharing and Caring Cancer Support Group of Marion County honored her as survivor of the year at the seventh annual Celebration of Life on National Cancer Survivors' Day, June 1, 2003.

Miss Murphy donated her body to the Human Gift Registry.
