Sampson was pinned against his seat

One of three accident victims being readied for transport

A serious two-vehicle collision happened yesterday about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Leafbank Road and Route 5 just west of Grantsville.

Duane Sampson of Big Bend received injuries when his 87' Ford truck collided with a '92 Ford Explorer. A report on his condition was unavailable.

The steering wheel of Samson's vehicle was pushed into the driver's seat and the driver's door came open. Emergency workers extracted Sampson from the truck and he was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center.

A passenger in Samson's truck, Jessica Riddle of Grantsville was taken to the hospital by Calhoun EMS. Also injured in the collision was Amanda Gail Williams of Big Bend, who was driving a '92 Ford Explorer. She was also taken to MHHCC.

The Sampson vehicle was reportedly entering Route 5 from Leafbank Road when the accident happened.

Sheriff Allen Parsons is investigating.

The Grantsville VFD responded to the accident.

One of the wrecked vehicles caught on fire after being towed to Furr's Wrecking, and the Grantsville VFD was summoned again at 12:47 p.m. to put it out.
