STEPHEN ALLEN MARTIN - Cross Lanes

Stephen Allen Martin, 49, of Cross Lanes, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at his home from complications of diabetes.

He was born November 8, 1953, a son of the late Ralph D. and Zella Craddock Webb Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Lewis Webb.

Stephen was raised in Spencer. He attended Spencer High School and Glenville State College. He worked with Special Olympics throughout West Virginia and was recognized for his dedication. He was an avid sports enthusiast and spent time playing and watching may kinds of sports. Also, he was employed by Bob Evans of Cross Lanes and Wal-Mart of Nitro.

Survivors include three sisters and brothers-in-law, Diana and Bill Morrison of Kingwood, Texas, Martha and David Cooper of Spencer, Tammy and Marc Roberts of Charleston; one sister-in-law, Adah Webb of Spencer; three nieces, three nephews, one grandniece and one grandnephew.

Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer on Thursday, June 19 from 6-9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, June 20 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Whited officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.
