HAROLD LOONEY - Parkersburg. formerly Calhoun

Harold Looney, 77, of 18th Avenue, Parkersburg passed away June 11, 2003, at his home following an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Calhoun County, a son of the late Peter and Clara Wright Looney.

Harold was retired as a truck drive for Ralph's Market/Looney Corporation. He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers and the American Legion Parkersburg Post 15. Harold seved in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time at his home and with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Velma Nutt Looney; one son, Steven R. Looney and his wife, Deanna, of Waverly; two daughters, Nancy Lee and her husband, Frank, of Dayton, Ohio and Linda L. Sines and her husband, John, of Washington; five grandchildren, Melissa Russell of Seattle, Wash., Mark Sines and Jason Sines of Washington, Steven M. Looney and Mathew A. Looney of Waverly; two step grandchildren, John E. Sines of Elizabeth and Shannon Knight of Parkersburg; and one step great-grandchild; one brother, Ralph Looney and his wife, Janet, of Parkersburg; and one sister, Norma Ketchum of Hockingport, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by a son, Frank Looney in 1997; one brother, Denzil Looney; and three sisters, Mae Hicks, Pauline Boso and Maude Hileman.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at The Kimes Funeral Home. The Rev. David Nutt will officiate and entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 15 of Parkersburg. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
