BOBBY McKELLY SKIPPER - Spencer

Bobby McKelly Skipper, 69, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, June 6, 2003 in Roane General Hospital, Spencer after an extended illness.

He was born September 4, 1933, in Inman, SC, a son of the late Howard and Eva Wilson Skipper. He was a retired brick mason who lived and worked in the Columbus, Ohio area for 42 years before retiring to Spencer in 1999. Mr. Skipper was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, of 45 years, Janet Jewell Monroe Skipper, son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Cindy Skipper of Newplymouth, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Alley of Tatesville, Kentucky, four sisters, Sue Wood and Linda Morgan both of Travelers Rest, SC, Lessie Epling of Little Mountain, SC and Sheryl Raines of Greenville, SC; one brother, Jerry Skipper of Mauldin, SC; five granddaughters and four great-grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Skipper, a sister, Carolyn Skipper and a great-grandchid.

Services will be conducted Monday, June 9 at 1 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Epling Chapel Cemetery, Looneyville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
