The 41st Calhoun County Wood Festival had two full days without rain, but some showers arrived in the area about midnight.

The festival's big day will go on, rain or shine. The Grand Parade kicks off at 1 p.m.

Tonight, there's lots of great music on the Main Street Stage.

Saturday:

9 a.m. - Booths open, carnival and merchant drawings

9-11 a.m. - Field Day for children at Wayne Underwood Field

9- noon - Archery Shoot by Nobe Knockbusters

9 a.m.-5 p.m. - Third Annual Car Show, old CHS parking lot, judging at 3 p.m.

10 a.m. - Quilt Show at Senior Center

11 a.m. - Recipe Contest (little courtroom) with judging at 11:30

Noon - Watermelon and ice cream eating contest (Main Street)

1 p.m. - The Grand Parade - Parade Marshall Jim Bell

2 p.m. - WV Lumberjack Championship at Wayne Underwood Field, with woodchopper Arden Cogar

2:30 - Special street performance by Heartwood in the Hills, paint-ball tourney at Wayne Underwood Field

3:30 - 11 p.m. - Entertainment on Main Street Stage

4:30 Paul Cottrill and High Mt. Bluegrass

5:30 Calhoun Choral Reflections

6:00 Jennifer Nicholas
