A few days ago we stumbled upon a guy on Pine Creek with his big fish picture. We were impressed with the fishes credentials and published a brief story and picture.

Well, it turns out the Musky has broken a 48 year state record, according to Bret Preston, Assistant Chief of the Division of Natural Resources Wildlife Division.

Glenn Boyd of Weston caught the 52.7 inch Musky, which weighed 38.5 pounds, on May 14 at Stonecoal Lake between Weston and Buckhannon.

He caught the fish on 8 pound test line with a Mepp's minnow spinner.

It took him 50-minutes to bring in the big boy.

The last record musky was in 1955 when Lester Hayes caught a 52.5 inch fish weighing 43 pounds in the Elk River near Clendenin.
