A Spencer woman, Jessica Ferguson, 22, was arrested about one year ago after her 5-week-old son was dead when he
was brought to the Roane General Hospital in Spencer. She has been indicted for a second time after the charges were
dropped for technical reasons.
A Roane County Grand Jury has now indicted her on two charges, including first degree murder of a child by a parent,
guardian or custodian and permitting another person to commit first degree murder of a child. The infant's father, Dreu
Ferguson Jr., 27, has also been indicted on murder charges. .
Among 24 indictments handed up by the Roane grand jury this week, Ronnie Richards, 38, of Big Springs for failure to
register as a sex offender.
