FORMER CLAY SHERIFF HAS DIED - Frank Fields, 95

Former Clay County sheriff Frank Fields, 95, of Wallback, died Saturday.

He is survived by a son, Harald Fields, current Sheriff of Clay County and James Fields of Kingwood, chief law enforcement officer for the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources. He is also survived by daughters, Ruby West of Wallback and and Wanda Shamblin of Clendeni.n; a brother, Roy of Big Otter; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Fields was a member of the Wallback Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, a retired farmer and school bus driver.

He was the late son of the late Lucy and Alfred Fields. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina; son, Ray; four brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Wallback Methodist Church with Minister Wilma Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wallback.
