GROVER WEAVER JR. - Danville, Boone County

Grover Weaver Jr., 79, of Danville, Boone County, died May 5, 2003, in Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison, after an extended illness.

Born March 2, 1924, in Spencer, he was the son of the late Grover and Adah Nester Weaver. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Weaver; sister, Noreen Ferrell; brother-in-law, Royce Ferrell; and nephew, James Ferrell.

Mr. Weaver was a retired schoolteacher having taught at Scott High School for 20 years from 1952 to 1972. He was a 1943 graduate of Spencer High School, a 1947 graduate of Glenville State College and received his master's from West Virginia University. Mr. Weaver was a member of Madison United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Opal Weaver of Washington, Wood County; niece, Barbara Curry of Washington; nephew, David Weaver of Sunbury, Pa.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Thomas D. McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison.
