WOMAN RECEIVES 3RD DEGREE BURNS - Propane Tank Ignites, Sheriff Arrests Drunken Driver

(05/05/2003)
A 36-year-old Russett Road woman received serious burns early Sunday morning after gas from what was described as a propane camping stove "exploded."

Glenda Talley reportedly received 3rd-degree burns to her arm and leg.

Calhoun EMS transported the woman to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center in Grantsville at 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

She was transferred to a Pittsburgh Burn Center for treatment, where sources said she will likely receive skin grafts.

A man was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 16 south of Grantsville Saturday night.

Sheriff Allen Parsons apprehended the suspect on the Mt. Zion Ridge after motorists spotted a vehicle driving left of center.

He was taken to Central Regional Jail.
