HUNTER RESCUED AFTER BEING PINNED UNDER TRUCK - 80-Year-Old Life Flighted From Little Creek

(04/29/2003)
UPDATE - The first accident of the spring gobbler season involved a run-a-way truck breaking free and pinning a Parkersburg man.

The man was pinned underneath his truck for nearly three hours before he was discovered by his hunting companions.

Charles Hall, about 80, was found near the top of a steep hillside in a wooded area of Little Creek, not far from Creston.

He reportedly received serious injuries to at least one of his legs and his lower body.

Hall was life-flighted from near the scene by a HealthNet chopper to Charleston Area Medical Center. The chopper landed close to the accident scene. Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville Fire Department responded to the call before noon.

Hall had gotten out of his truck to cut a tree, when it broke loose.

A report on his condition is not available from CAMC.
