(04/28/2003)
By Diann Clothier

The WV Mountain Bike Racing Team rolled into four first place finishes today at Ace Adventure Center's mud-covered trails. Ace's Spring Bike Fest was the 4th WV Mountain Bike Association Point Series Race.

Clay Evans pounded the 36 mile trail for a first place finish in the Men's Pro/Expert Class, wrapping it up in only two hours and 54 minutes. Brian Fawley, a Junior Expert rider, followed Clay in a scant two minutes later. Also taking first place finishes in their class were Mandi Riddle (Women's Pro/Expert) and Linda Brison (Women's Master).

Will Clagg, a Sport 19 to 25 racer, finished 2nd in his class. Team Manager Steve Thaxton grabbed a 3rd place finish in Vet Expert Class. Courtney Dudley (Women's Sport) and Cai Clothier (Men's Junior 14 and under) also finished third in their classes.

The WV Mountain Bike Racing Team is sponsored by WV Tourism, Worldwide Chiropractic, rocker Jon Bon Jovi, Cannondale, and the Charleston Bike Center.
