MINERAL WELLS LIVESTOCK EXCHANGE STARTS WITH A BANG - Spencer Man Re-Opens Market

(04/21/2003)
The area's new livestock exchange got off to a big start this past weekend.

Well-known Spencer resident, farmer and businessman Guy Randolph and his son Richard were happy with the opening of the Mineral Wells Livestock Exchange on Saturday. They said about 400 animals went through on opening day, with about 1,000 people attending the sale.

The new market replaces the Parkersburg livestock exchange which closed a couple of months ago after having financial difficulty.

. Up to $12 million a year in livestock was sold there under the previous management.

The Mineral Wells Livestock Exchange will be open every Saturday with special sales being considered during the week.
