ROANE MAN WILL REOPEN PARKERSBURG LIVESTOCK SALE - Former Owners Had Financial Problems

(04/17/2003)
A Roane County businessman Guy Randolph will be re-opening the former Parkersburg Livestock Market at Mineral Wells.

Randolph of Spencer will reopen the business at the Mineral Wells Livestock Exchange on Saturday. A horse sale is set for noon that day followed by a cattle sale at 1 p.m.

The livestock yard was shut down for two months because of financial problems.

Agriculture Commissioner Gus Douglass issued an order in February suspending the permit of the Parkersburg Livestock Market in, after the market's owners reported problems to the Packers and Stockyard Administration, a division of the US Department of Agriculture.
