IS GLENVILLE STATE STILL UNDER THE AX? - Interviews Being Conducted For New President

(04/13/2003)
The future of Glenville State College is still up in the air, although the tension seemed relieved during the past legislative session.

Is the college still slated for closure by 2007?

The college apparently lost some of its community based services, but got a shot in the arm from Sen. Alan Mollohan for some new facilities.

GSC will be interviewing candidates for President this month, including Michael Field, interim president of Shawnee State University in Ohio.

Current President Dr. Thomas Powell is leaving in June to become president of Mount Saint Mary's College and Seminary in Maryland.

Dozens of regional counties and organizations have gone to bat to keep the rural college open.
