SUE ELLEN ANDERSON BERMELE, 77, RETURNS TO CALHOUN SOD

Sue Ellen Anderson Bermele, 77, of Florence, Alabama died Monday, August 5, 2024, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab.

Mrs. Bermele was born in Washington County, Ohio to Carl and Bessie McCoy Anderson. They moved from West Virginia to Ohio where they farmed. She moved to Arizona and went to ASU for Teaching. She taught on the Apache Reservation, Special education in Tempe, AZ. She married Allen Chunn in April 1981 in Overgaard, Arizona, until his death, she later married Charles Bermele in June 2008, and they moved to Florence, Alabama where he died in 2021.

Her grandparents were native Calhoun residents. John Ira and Mary Virginia Riggs McCoy of Hur and John and Mary Whytsell Anderson of Letherbark.

She is survived by brother, John Anderson and stepchildren, Theresa Kramer, Catherine Lely, and James Chunn; sons-in-law, Charles Bermele and Sean Bermele and families; grandchildren, Nicci Ferrel, Lindsey Roth, Rachel Kramer, Emily Kramer, Hans Kramer, Zacharie Hulihan, and many great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Lynch Cemetery, Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, with Rev. David Weaver officiating. John H.
