(04/19/2026)

A rock with writing and a tiny home-
made cross marks Roy Husk's grave

By Bob Weaver

2024 - Few return to one of the six final resting places on the remote Husk Ridge, but one man, Roy S. Husk, 74, of New Philadelpia, Ohio, just did, to a Husk Cemetery.

He was he son of the late Samuel George and Flossie (Coon) Husk, who are buried there, a farmer and veteran of World War II, dying early at age 43

Roy Husk's family from early days

Samuel George Husk was the son of Samuel Clayton Husk and Flora Gay Bell Husk, the elder Husks were parents of; Helen Husk Stout, Joe Husk, Martin Husk, Roy Husk, Cindy Husk Parsons, Veda Husk Milhoun, Gloria Husk Anderson, Hattie Husk Lowe, Gladys Husk Hursell, Linda Husk and Donna Husk Perry.

I ridge run the Husk since my childhood, now a thousand times, able look across the hills and hollows and see something new every time.
