2024: ANTIQUE FURNITURE RETURNED TO STUMP HOTEL

By Bob Weaver 2024 New donations were made this year to the historic Stump Hotel in Grantsville, a project of the Calhoun Historical Society. Joaan Campbell Stump, wife of the late Dr. Charles Albert Stump of Daytona, Florida made their latest contribution. Dr. Stump was the son of well-known Calhoun resident, Gladys Weaver Stump. Spav's historical fiddle, Wicker chair represents serious furniture making, The Stumps donated two buildings to the society several years ago. Among the items, all returned to their place of origin, a wicker chair, a marble top table and a framed fiddle belonging to Spavy Stump, similar to a fiddle that had bullet hole received in the 1920s while he was playing at a hoedown in Stumptown.
