FRIDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 160 DEATHS THIS WEEK, CALHOUN CASES SPIKING

West Virginia’s deaths related to coronavirus this week have now topped 160 as state health officials reported another 17 deaths Friday.

Active cases are up nearly 100 and are at 7,629. The DHHR reported 902 new virus cases since the last update.

Hospitalizations are at 611 with 190 in intensive care and 116 on a ventilator. The numbers are as of Thursday.

The state’s cumulative positive test rate remains unchanged at 6.10%, while the daily positive test rate is at 7.08%, up from 6.11%.
