Mary Katherine "Bubbles" Evans Bales, 70, of Gandeeville

Mary Katherine "Bubbles" Evans Bales, 70, of Gandeeville WV, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at home after fighting an extended illness.

She was born August 13, 1951, at Spencer, the daughter of the late Tom C. and Louise Kinney Evans, Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Grayson Bales; two sisters, Sally Evans and Nancy Jane Evans; one brother, John Evans.

Mary was the retired owner/operator of a local cleaning service in Roane County and vicinity. She was a former employee of Kellwood Company, Roane General Hospital and Poca Valley Bank. Also, she was a 1970 graduate of Spencer High School.

Her pastimes included going to Curves, baking her famous banana bread, collecting tea cups, reading and listening to music.

She had a great love for her son and grandchildren. They were her world. Mary was courageous and took on the many obstacles thrown at her head on. She never let anything get her down. Mary loved both family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Danny Bales of Gandeeville; son and daughter-in-law, Eliott and Kayla Bales of Walton WV; grandson, Lucas Bales also of Walton; sister, Meredith Baughman of Corvallis OR; brother, Tom C. Evans, III of Ripley WV, several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Thank you Danny, her loving husband, and the hospice nurses for taking great care of her until the very end.

Due to Covid-19 risks, a private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Gandeeville Cemetery, Gandeeville, with Pastor Shane Greathouse officiating.

Memorial donations to CDHI in memory of her grandson, Grayson, are preferred. See   cdhi.org
