WV MOUNTAIN BIKE ASSOCIATION - Second Point Series Race

The WV Mountain Bike Racing Team hit the trails Sunday at Mountwood Park in Waverly, WV, for the 2nd WV Mountain Bike Association Point Series Race of 2003. The WV Mountain Bike Racing Team is sponsored by WV Tourism, Worldwide Chiropractic, rock star Jon Bon Jovi, the Charleston Bike Shop, and Cannondale.

Mandy Riddle, racing in the Women's Expert Class, and Mark Johnson, racing in the Men's Sport 26-35 Class, both took first place. Clay Evans, Men's Pro/Expert Class, placed 2nd, and Brian Fawley, Men's Junior Expert Class, placed 4th, along with team manager, Steve Thaxton, racing Pro/Expert Vet. The Pro/Expert classes races a course of 28 miles. Sport riders had to complete a 16 mile race, and the Masters and Juniors raced 8 miles.

Linda Brison, Women's Master Class, took 1st place, and Courtney Dudley placed 3rd in the Women's Sport Class. Will Clagg placed 4th in the Men's Sport 19-25, but the team's littlest member, Cai Clothier (Junior 14 and under) did not finish the 8 mile cross country race, but did place 1st in the Kids' Race for the 11&12 year old group.

Come Watch the WV Mountain Bike Racing Team compete next Sunday at Big Bear, near Hazelton WV!
