THURSDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - Calhoun Has 68 Active Cases, WV Has 1,477 New Cases, WV Worst In Nation With Vaccines, Highest Per Capita Death Rate

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 1,477 new COVID-19 cases and 25 additional deaths in its report on Sept. 23.

WV has topped record 1,000 hospitalizations.

West Virginia landed at the very worst with the lowest overall vaccination rate and next-to highest overall death rate.

The DHHR confirmed 1,734 new COVID-19 cases and 26 additional deaths in its report on Wednesday.

The DHHR reports there have been 3,755,942 (+13,340) total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 228,983 (+1,477) total cases and 3,492 (+25) total deaths.

DHHR has confirmed the deaths of a 63 year old female from Wirt County and a 86 year old Braxton County female.

According to the DHHR dashboard, there are currently 15,177 active cases.
