Inas J. McHenry, 80 of Cedarville

Inas J. McHenry, 80 of Cedarville WV, departed this earthly life with her loving family by her side in the afternoon hours of Friday, September 17, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born May 8, 1941 in Braxton County WV, daughter of the late Wesley and Sylvia Smith Dobbins.

Inas was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, attending antique car shows, caring for foster children with whom her and Leroy had over 30, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and singing church hymns.

Besides being a homemaker, Inas worked as a waitress, dispatcher at the Gilmer County Jail, and worked in housekeeping at the nursing home in Glenville. Inas is also a Baptist by faith and member of the Dawson Baptist Church.

On January 11, 1969 she was united in marriage to Charles "Leroy" McHenry, who preceded her in death on September 21, 2012.

Surviving are 5 children, Angela Moore (James) of Cedarville, Dale Riffle (Melinda) of Harrisville WV, Matthew McHenry (Jessica) of Clay WV, Darlene Blind (Richard) of Sweetwater TN, and Diane McCullough (Tom) of Pennsboro WV; and 3 siblings, Adrian Dobbins (Pat) of Fort Wayne IN, Wesley Dobbins (Jan) of Gassaway WV, and Garry Dobbins (Emma Jean) of Cedarville.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with her husband and parents, Inas is preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren, Wesley Riffle and Joselyn Rial, and a son-in-law, State Police Trooper Larry G. Hacker.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville WV at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 with Pastor Larry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Dobbins Cemetery near Cedarville. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. to time of services Wednesday at the mortuary.
