CALHOUN HAS 29 NEW COVID-19 CASES SINCE FRIDAY WHEN 37 CASES REPORTED - WV 1,473 New Cases, 23 Deaths Tuesday

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 1,473 new COVID-19 cases and 23 additional deaths in its report on Sept. 14.

West Virginia is leading the nation with the fewest vaccinated and the greatest spread.

The DHHR confirmed 1,417 new COVID-19 cases and 31 additional deaths in its report on Monday.

Calhoun appears, according to the Tuesday report, to have 29 new cases since last Friday, with a number of residents in intensive care and on ventilators.

Last Friday, Calhoun hit a record high with 37 new cases reported.

Calhoun appeared to have 245 new cases during the previous 14 days. Most new Calhoun cases are among children and affecting the 30-50 age group, while the older group is facing serious illness.

The DHHR reports there have been 3,607,642 (+9,650) total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 213,179 (+1,473) total cases and 3,261 (+23) total deaths.

According to the DHHR dashboard, there are currently 28,035 active cases.
