David Ray Harbert, 66, of Sand Fork

David Ray Harbert, 66, of Turkey Fork Road, Sand Fork WV, departed this earthly life in the evening hours of Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the WV Caring Hospice House in Elkins WV, following an extended illness.

He was born May 18, 1955 in Elyria OH, son of the late Eugene and Goldie Conrad Harbert.

David is a veteran of the United States Navy and worked for General Motors. In his spare time he enjoyed shooting pool, watching westerns and wrestling on TV, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are 5 siblings, Shirley Herron (Ray) of Sand Fork, Evelyn Sandanger (Detlef) of Norway, Paula Smith and companion (Paul) of Grafton OH, Paul Harbert of Elyria OH, and Jesse Harbert (Cindy) also of Grafton OH; and a special great-great niece, Winter Joswick.

Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with his parents, David is preceded in death by a niece, Camilla Sandanger.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville WV, at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Heaters WV, with military honors provided by the United States Navy. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary in Glenville.
