He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lolita Hunter Coon. Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Warren and Toni Coon of Comfort, Paul and Kay Coon of Hernshaw; two daughters and their husbands, Vivian and Tom Higgins of Montgomery, Melinda and Rick Fitzwater of Hur, Calhoun County, and recently widowed daughter, Pam Cantley of Bixby, Okla.; grandchildren are Courtney and Adam Coon, Sarah and Jessica Cantley, Catherine and Kelsey Higgins, Emily and Cassie Coon, Michael and Ryan Fitzwater; a sister, Sylvia C. Turner of Olmstead Falls, Ohio, also survives him.

Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

The family and friends will further celebrate Kermit's life at a gathering for lunch at the Racine Volunteer Fire Station following the service. Everyone is invited.
