MONDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 2,486 NEW CASES, 10,543 ACTIVE CASES - Calhoun Has Six New Cases Since Friday, No Counties In Green

Active COVID-19 cases passed 10,000 on Monday in West Virginia.

Calhoun has six new cases since Friday.

No WV county is now in the "good to go" green.

Calhoun and Gilmer in yellow. Three of Calhoun's neighboring counties are red, Clay, Braxton and Roane, with 20 other counties, while Wirt and Ritchie are orange, with 22 other counties.

State health officials reported eight new COVID-19 deaths and 2,486 new positive cases since Friday. There were 10,543 active cases Monday.

The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported the pandemic death toll is now at 3,016.

As for hospitalizations, 447 people were in hospitals with COVID, including 143 in intensive care and 57 on ventilators.

The state’s cumulative positive test rate was at 5.06%. The daily positive test rate increased from 9.26% on Friday to 11.44% Monday.

Delta variant cases of the coronavirus were at 470.

The state’s data shows 0.44% of fully vaccinated people in the state have gotten COVID. The data also shows 0.007% of those who are fully vaccinated have died from the virus.
