CALHOUN VOTES TO GO 'WET' - Low Voter Turnout

(08/12/2021)
Calhoun voters, with a small turnout, voted to make Calhoun County a wet county, a special election conducted Tuesday.

273 voted to make the county wet and 238 voted no.

Calhoun was the last dry county in WV.

The county, in more recent years, had voted to stay dry several times.

The county will receive a small amount of taxes from the sale, likely a few hundred dollars.
