WV COVID-19 TUESDAY REPORT - 50 New Cases

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported no new COVID-19 deaths in Tuesday’s update and 60 new positive cases.

The death total for the pandemic is 2,909. Active COVID cases were at 971 on Tuesday.

A small number of Calhoun cases are hospitalized.

The state’s cumulative positive test percentage remained at 4.97% Tuesday. The daily positive percentage test rate went from 1.90% Monday to 2.37% Tuesday.

There were 80 people hospitalized with the virus as of Monday. There were 39 in intensive care and 10 patients on a ventilator. Recoveries were at 160,804.

The DHHR's data shows there are 17 cases of the delta variant of COVID-19 in the state. The DHHR reports there are six cases in Monongalia County, five cases in Berkeley County, and one in each of the following counties: Greenbrier, Hampshire, Harrison, Kanawha, Marion and McDowell.
