(07/05/2021)
Larry Joe Morton, age 80 of Grantsville WV went home to be with the Lord on the evening of July 2, 2021 after an extended illness.

Larry was a member of Enon Baptist Church where he served many years as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was retired after working over 30 years for the WV Department of Agriculture. He was also a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was a loving husband to his spouse Judy for 57 years as well as an amazing father to his daughter. He was a devoted grandfather and mentor to his grandsons and had a special place in his heart for his granddaughter in law and great granddaughter.

He was an avid angler and hunter. One of his greatest joys was spending time in the woods hunting with his grandsons and daughter. He adored sitting and holding his great granddaughter and seeing his grandpups Benson and Remington. He enjoyed visiting and studying the Bible with Roydice Williams after drinking coffee at the restaurant with his friends. He also enjoyed working in the garden with his family and good friends Richard and Karen Kirby.

One of Larry’s greatest accomplishments was guiding his grandsons into becoming the men they are today. He devoted many hours teaching them to hunt, fish and most importantly to be good Christian men.

In additions to his loving wife Judy Morton he is survived by, a daughter, Tina Bryant (Kenneth) of Summersville WV; grandsons Evan Aldridge (Kelly) of Summersville, and Seth Aldridge of Glenville WV; great granddaughter Katie Aldridge; and special brother and sister Bill Stevens and Linda Harris.
