TUESDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 571 NEW CASES CONFIRMED, WIRT WOMAN DIES

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed 571 new COVID-19 cases, 5 additional deaths in its report on June 1.

The DHHR confirmed 241 new COVID-19 cases and no additional deaths in its report on Friday.

The DHHR only sends out updated numbers on Monday-Friday — except for holidays.

The DHHR reports there have been 2,923,215 (+23,139) total confirmatory laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 161,858 (+571) total cases and 2,797 (+5) total deaths.

A 78-year old female from Wirt County has died from COVID-19.

According to the DHHR dashboard, there are currently 4,550 active cases and 154,511 recovered cases in the state.
