JACKSON STABBING - One person is in custody and another is in the hospital after deputies in Jackson County, West Virginia, said he was stabbed and forced to withdraw cash from an ATM at gunpoint.

Deputies said Kendrick Craig Conrad, 28, forced a man into a vehicle at gunpoint during a domestic dispute in Jackson County, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

While driving to an ATM in Kanawha County, deputies said the two individuals got into an argument when Conrad pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the shoulder and back.

Once they returned to Jackson County, the victim was able to eventually get out of the vehicle and call for help.

Deputies said the vehicle was spotted in Fairplain, West Virginia, where Conrad was taken into custody. He has been charged with kidnapping and more deputies said more charges could be filed.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

DUNBAR SHOOTING - A Dunbar man was arrested Saturday morning in connection with a shooting in Cross Lanes.

William Landon VI, 36, is accused of shooting Bryan Hazel, 31, in the leg about after the two got into an altercation earlier in the night, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. The shooting was reported about 1:15 a.m. on Queens Court.

Deputies said the two men got into a fight when Landon allegedly pulled a knife. Hazel and another man were able to take the knife from Landon who then left the area, the news release said. Landon returned about 30 minutes later and allegedly fired multiple shots at the two men, hitting Hazel in the leg.

Landon was located later in the morning and charged with malicious wounding, wanton endangerment and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Deputies said Landon was convicted in 2004 of felony wanton endangerment and malicious wounding.

Hazel was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
