Dwayne started in Calhoun County as a Substitute in 1998, in 2000 he was hired full time as a bus mechanic. A fellow co-worker stated that “Dwayne has been dedicated to Calhoun County Schools for several years, he can fix anything, and a true asset to the county.” This year Dwayne has decided to retire, he will truly be missed.

When asked what he enjoyed most about working for CCS, he said eating lunch with his co-workers, but he was really looking forward to retirement as well. Once retired Dwayne plans to enjoy working in his garden and hunting.

Ms. Walburn is a High School English Teacher at Calhoun Middle/High School. She graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Ms. Walburn currently serves as secretary for Faculty Senate, National Honor Society Advisor, High Honors banquet coordinator, and works in the library.

Ms. Walburn has received the High Honors Teacher in 2014, 2016, and Calhoun County High School Teacher of the Year 2016 Nominee.

Ms. Walburn’s philosophy of teaching—“As an educator, I know my students are the most important aspect of my job. I strongly believe that a classroom environment should be student centered. Every child should be made to feel that he or she is in control of the learning process and capable of success.”
