| Linda Sue "Cindy" Sponaugle, age 64 of Little Cove Road, Troy WV, departed this earthly life in the morning hours of Thursday, May 20, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born January 25, 1957 in Florida, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Gilcrist Corbitt. Cindy is a Christian by faith and a registered nurse who worked in the health care industry performing all manner of nursing jobs and also worked in the home health care industry. In her spare, Cindy enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, and she loved spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible. On December 27, 1980 Cindy was united in marriage to William A. "Bill" Sponaugle who survives at their home on Little Cove Road. Surviving are 2 sons, Jason Sponaugle and wife Bonni of Petersburg VA, and Josh Sponaugle and wife Brittany of Glenville WV; 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Ariel, and Brody Sponaugle; 1 great-granddaughter, Miara Eloise Sponaugle, and 2 brothers, William Corbitt and wife Michelle of Clemons NC, and James Corbitt and wife Tanya of Rolesville NC. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends. Along with her parents, Cindy is preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Corbitt. Cindy's request for cremation has been honored and a celebration of life memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Horizon Church of Gilmer County, 75 Fairground Road, Glenville, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenny Fisher officiating. Ellyson Mortuary and Cremation Services, Inc. is honored to assist the family of Linda Sue "Cindy" Sponaugle with arrangements. |
