In 2010, Calhoun's official census was 7,627.
The estimated 2020 census is 7,001.
The estimated 2021 census is 6,893.
At the least, the county appears to have lost about 600 citizens.
The county population peaked at 12,455 citizens in 1940, with a major drop coming in 1960.
