TRACI EVANS IS CGCC TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center would like to announce Mrs. Traci Evans as our Teacher of the Year for the 20-21 school year. Traci is a graduate of Calhoun County High School and has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Glenville State College and a Master’s Degree from Marshall University. This year is her 17th year teaching. Mrs. Evans has taught courses for Glenville State College, Gilmer County High School and is currently teaching English here at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. When asked to comment about being a teacher, Mrs. Evans had this to say, “The wonderful teachers that taught me at Calhoun County High School instilled a love of learning in me and I knew that I wanted to teach and do the same for others. I am blessed to be a part of a profession where I can influence young people’s futures. I hope that my students go out into the world and do the same.” Mrs. Evans has been married to Kevin Evans for 26 years. She has two daughters, Tara, who is completing her 4th year of Pharmacy school at the University of Charleston and Ashley, who recently graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing with her RN degree.
