RITCHIE WOMAN WAIVES CASE TO GRAND JURY IN DEATH OF NEWBORN CHILD

A Ritchie County woman, Elizabeth Saxton, 31, has waived her preliminary hearing Friday for the death of her newborn child in early April. The case now goes to the Ritchie County Grand Jury, which prosecutor Sam Rogers says next meets in June. She is facing criminal charges after authorities said she gave birth to a baby at her home on School Drive in Pennsboro and failed to take steps to keep the child alive. She is charged with child neglect resulting in death and concealment of a deceased human body.
