The WV School Building Authority approved more than $70 million in new funding for state schools.
Funding for one area project that did receive SBA approval was a request by Roane County for a new Spencer Middle School - $13.9 million from the SBA.
The middle school had been housed in the old Spencer High School facility for a number of years.
